The initiative, named “Revoke the bail of Frank de León ‘Justice for Diamond”, for this Friday morning totaled about 7,258 signatures.

De León, aged 17 and accused of murder for the death of the fifteen-year-old, was released this Wednesday after paying a bond of $250,000 dollars.

The victim’s family questioned the release of the young man they accuse of “executing” his daughter from 22 shot in the back.

In the description of the campaign, the alleged attempt by the suspect to flee from the authorities after the crime, as well as the alleged threats received by Diamond’s relatives before and after the arrest.

“When suspect Frank de León was arrested, detectives indicated that he was discovered while packing to escape the city/state or country. Before and since his arrest, Diamond Alvarez’s family has been receiving threats and has been threatened on multiple occasions at their home and now they fear for his safety. The Judge- Hazel B. Jones granted him bail at $250,000 and threatened and the tension has only gotten worse for the family, neighborhood and the city of Houston”, states the request in which the prosecutors of the case and the governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, are summoned.

De León would have summoned Álvarez to a park last 11 January southwest of Houston to kill her.

Allegedly, the young men had broken off the relationship recently after Álvarez found out that the boy had been in a relationship for years with another girl.

The victim had been in a relationship with De León for about six months.

At the hearing in which she was granted bail, it transpired that the girl had contacted De León’s partner, which led her to leave him.

In addition, prosecutors revealed that the boy had punched Álvarez in the face in a pre-trial incident. he saw her and had threatened her with a gun.
