The New York Police (NYPD) published the video of the moment when Gary Cabana, of 60 years ago, he attacked employees of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), because his membership had been revoked.

The photo of Cabana was also released as part of the effort to locate him, who jumped over the reception desk and stabbed two employees on Saturday afternoon.

The surveillance video of the museum, located on 53 West Street, shows the moment of attack and how a woman and a man, both 24 years old, tried to take cover, but the subject he managed to stab them, her in the back and neck, and him in the left clavicle.

Fortunately, the victims are in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital, the NYPD reported.

Authorities indicate that Cabana’s last known address was a supportive housing residence on the street 30 West. The man has no prior arrests.

Cabana was furious when he was denied entry to see a movie, as he was informed that his membership had been revoked and a letter had been sent to him on Friday.

“expired as a result of two public nuisance-related incidents here at the museum on two separate dates in the past few days,” said John Miller, deputy commissioner of the NYPD’s Intelligence and Counterterrorism Bureaus at a press conference.

Given the refusal to enter the museum, the man became enraged and launched himself against the employees, while – as seen in the video – a guard only tried to stop the aggressor without directly confronting him, throwing a folder at him.

The attack occurred at 4: 30 pm, when dozens of tourists were in the area.

The NYPD requests assistance in reporting the assailant at 800-577-TIPS (in Spanish).
