wells-fargo-will-continue-to-finance-the-mexican-soccer-teams-for-more-years

The Mexican Soccer Federation (FMF) and Wells Fargo, the official Financial Services sponsor of the Mexican men’s and women’s national teams in the United States, announced a multi-year extension of their partnership. Soccer United Marketing (SUM), partner and commercial representative of FMF in the US for the last 20 years, facilitated the agreement.

The Wells Fargo partnership and Mexico men’s and women’s national team tour will forge a deeper connection with soccer’s millennial and multicultural fan base by creating unique experiences and offerings that bring people together. Wells Fargo is the first partner to sponsor both the men’s team and the recently inaugurated women’s tour of the United States.

“Soccer is the number one sport for Latinos in the US. Mexican-Americans, the Mexican National Team exemplifies their deep pride in their rich cultural heritage. For this reason, Wells Fargo has been associated with the FMF and SUM since 2013”, said Rebeca Vargas, director of marketing for Diverse Segments at Wells Fargo. “We are honored to support the passion of Latinos for soccer and proud to be the first and only corporation in the United States to sponsor the Mexican national teams,” she added.

For his part, Yon de Luisa, president of the FMF, expressed: “The Mexican Soccer Federation is very proud to have Wells Fargo as a partner so committed to the development of our national teams and their fans, and especially with the women’s national team.”

Under the terms of the new agreement, Wells Fargo also has the designations as the Official Bank of the Mexico men’s national team teams and the official sponsor of Payment Services. Among the game-day assets, Wells Fargo will have field-level LED signage, in-stadium display, and game-day hospitality.

As part of the sponsorship, Wells Fargo is also launching debit cards with the new logo of the Mexican National Team. “We offer our customers the opportunity to show their passion for football through their debit card. We look forward to working with Wells Fargo in creating special moments for the Mexican National Teams and fans in meaningful ways for many years to come,” said Vargas.

Starting with a match against Nigeria at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, El Tri will play a series of MexTour matches, in preparation for the World Cup in Qatar 2022, including matches against Uruguay (Glendale, Az.) and Ecuador (Chicago) on June 2 and 5, respectively. The MexTour will also head to Atlanta, to face Paraguay on August 31.
