Nine people, including a minor, were hit by bullets fired in broad daylight at a warehouse in Newark, the most populous city in New Jersey, and a neighbor of NYC.

Authorities reported that shortly after 6: 20 pm a person driving a stolen white Honda Pilot vehicle in Jersey City approached a warehouse on the corner of Clinton Place and Shephard Avenue in Newark and opened fire, for unknown reasons.

A total of nine people were shot, including a young man from 17 years, but miraculously none of the victims were seriously injured. Five of them were even able to transport themselves to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, just a few blocks from the scene of the shooting. The other four were taken by ambulance to University Hospital, according to New York Post.

Last night police said they were still looking for the Honda Pilot, which had been reported stolen hours earlier in Jersey City, according to the interim director of public safety of Newark, Raúl Malavé. It is unclear if the entire group of people was the gunman’s intended target or just some of them.

Neighbors living near the shooting site told Fox News that they were concerned that there would be more gun violence on their streets as the summer progressed, traditionally the time of greatest gun violence.

Although there were no fatalities, this shooting in Newark was the 19no mass shooting in the entire country since the 19 June, according to the Gun Violence Archive, a national database that tracks gun violence in the US. In those shootings, people have been killed and 20 injured.
