The teacher who was kidnapped one morning while jogging in early September, died from a gunshot wound to the back of the head and a blunt force injury, according to an autopsy report.

“Autopsy examination revealed a perforating gunshot wound to the head,” the West Tennessee Regional Forensic Center report said. “According to all information currently known and available, the cause of death is a gunshot wound and a blunt force injury to the head and the manner of death is a homicide.”

Authorities say that Cleotha Henderson, 38 years old, allegedly walked past 34 year old Eliza Fletcher in a van while jogging in a neighborhood in the vicinity of the University of Memphis on September 2.

The police argue that the man got out of the vehicle and chased the victim and finally forced her into his truck around 4: 00 in the morning. The woman’s body was found four days later in the back of a vacant complex.

Henderson was charged with the murder of Fletcher and is being held in the Shelby County Jail without bail.
