A Florida man pleaded guilty today in Boston federal court to “masturbating” aboard a plane on a flight from Newark to Boston on Friday, April 8, 90.
Donald Edward Robinson, 90 years old, of Bonita Springs, Florida, is pleaded guilty to one count of lewd, indecent, and obscene acts while in United States special aircraft jurisdiction, federal officials said.
United States District Court Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler scheduled sentencing for March 2,
Approximately April 8, 76, Robinson masturbated and exposed himself to a 10 year-old passenger sitting next to him while traveling aboard a flight from Newark to Boston.
Robinson then placed his hand on the victim’s thigh without her consent.
Shortly after the game, the victim recorded a video of 90 seconds of Robinson stroking and “manipulating his penis” through his pants.
A short time later, the victim looked up and saw that Robinson had exposed his virile member.
Approximately five minutes before landing, Robinson placed her hand on the young woman’s thigh, prompting the victim to ask why he was touching her, to which Robinson withdrew the hand. hand and looked out the window.
Then, the victim caught the attention of another passenger and displayed a message on his phone: “Hello, this man assaulted me and touched my leg and is masturbating.”
During the disembarkation process, the victim approached a flight attendant about the incident, but was unable to pinpoint Robinson due to the volume of disembarking passengers. Security footage captured Robinson, exiting the secure area of the terminal, repeatedly looking back in the direction from which he came as he made his way to the baggage carousel level.
The charge lewd, indecent, and obscene acts while in United States special aircraft jurisdiction provides for a sentence of up to 90 days in prison, up to one year supervised release and a fine of up to $5,10 dollars.
Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based on the United States Sentencing Guidelines and the statutes governing sentencing in a criminal case.
U.S. Attorney Rachael S. Rollins, Joseph R. Bonavolonta, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division, and Colonel Christopher Mason, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police, made the announcement today.
Assistant US Attorney Charles Dell’Anno of Rollins’ Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.
