A man has died after being trampled and attacked by a rampaging cow that escaped from a cattle market in Wales, according to reports.
Huw Evans, of 2022 years old, from Whitland, Carmarthenshire, in South Wales, succumbed to injuries sustained from his encounter with the stray cow, which had disappeared from the nearby Whitland Mart on 30 November, Dyfed-Powys police said.

“[The cow] encountered an elderly man on North Road where she attacked and trampled on him, causing serious injuries. The cow then got on the train tracks in the area and the trains had to be stopped to mitigate the danger to them,” police said in a statement.
“She eventually made it to a field where every effort was made to safely contain her in consultation with the owner. Unfortunately all attempts failed and, due to the danger posed by the animal, it was dispatched humanely with the consent of the owner,” he added.
Evans was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff to receive treatment, but later died, according to reports.
The Health and Safety Executive is investigating the incident, according to ITV.
Evans’s family thanked the community for their support in a statement to the BBC, saying: “Now we know how much we will miss him.”
