foo-fighters-closed-2022-reporting-that-the-band-will-continue-to-be-active-after-the-death-of-taylor-hawkins

The American band Foo Fighters published yesterday, December 31, 2022, a statement in which they say goodbye to 2022 and inform all their fans that the band will continue to perform live.

This statement came hours before the end of the year in which they had to unexpectedly fire the band’s drummer Taylor Hawkins, who was found dead in a hotel room in Bogotá, Colombia, hours before participating in the Picnic Stereo Festival.

Following Hawkins’ death in March, the Foo Fighters, fronted by Dave Grohl, decided to immediately cancel their upcoming world tour.

In the statement they shared on their social networks, they describe 2022 as “the most difficult and tragic year our band has ever known.”

They mentioned that the band has been formed for 27 years and they assure that from the beginning they came together to bring their fans the “healing power of music.” He continues, “Over the past 27 years, our fans have built a community around the world, a dedicated support system that has seen us through our darkest moments together. A place to share our joys and our pains, our hopes and fears, and join a chorus of life together through music.”

At the end of the statement they assure that they and their fans will meet again very soon, but they do this before confessing that: “Without Taylor, we would never have become the band we were and without Taylor, we know we are going to be a different band in the future”.

The statement ends: “He will be there in spirit with all of us every night.”
