checo-perez-attacked-max-verstappen-and-red-bull:-“if-i-don't-receive-support-when-i-need-it,-i-won't-give-it-either”-[video]

The Mexican Formula 1 driver, Sergio “Checo” Pérez, gave some controversial statements ahead of the start of Formula 1 in which he assured that he will give everything as always for Red Bull but that he hopes to work as a team and get retribution from the team and his teammate, Max Verstappen.

In a statement for Fox Sports in the run-up to the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 5, Checo Pérez did not hide from the controversy that Verstappen and he experienced after his statements at the Brazilian Grand Prix, where he said that if the Dutchman had with two world titles it was thanks to the Mexican.

For this reason, he confirmed that he is committed to his team but hopes to receive greater support while he is on the track.

“It’s always important to work as a team and obviously if I see that I don’t receive support when I need it, I won’t give it either,” said Checo Pérez.

In the same way, he assured that the chapter with Verstappen and the comments that both made were left behind and that now they will try to continue as the ideal couple that represents Red Bull.

“We have discussed it and we have a very transparent relationship from the beginning. In the end, the important thing is to leave everything behind because we have to work as a team,” he added.

Verstappen and Checo Pérez fell into controversy after, once the championship was secured, the Mexican asked for help to obtain the drivers’ runner-up but the European did not abide by the instructions to comply with it, giving second place to the Ferrari driver, Charles Leclerc.
