A Mexican teacher was shot to death shortly after leaving classes at a special education school in the city of Orizaba, in the state of Veracruz.
The teacher died after receiving at least 5 firearm impacts, in events recorded at noon yesterday, Monday, February 27, in the Benito Juárez neighborhood in said city.
The woman identified as Verónica Fernández Trujillo left the CAM 15 Multiple Attention Center, a special education school, but when she was about to board her Ibiza vehicle, she was shot to death, according to Mexican media.
Several witnesses reported that a subject dressed in black approached the vehicle and shot the teacher at least five times and at a very short distance, however, a video that was revealed later shows an alleged woman fleeing the scene. .
The paramedics arrived at the scene of the crime to provide first aid to the 30-year-old woman, however, they confirmed that the teacher Fernández had already died from the injuries caused by the firearm.
The area was cordoned off by the police authorities and an operation was mounted to search for the murderer.
For his part, Governor Cuitláhuac García Jiménez ruled on the case and assured that the line of investigation points to a “passionate motive.” He also reported that there is a detainee as an alleged accomplice who may have helped the woman in her escape.
Thus, elements of the Ministerial Police arrested “Jesús N”, an alleged restaurant businessman from Ciudad Mendoza and politician in the region, who according to local media is the husband of the alleged perpetrator of the crime.
Supposedly, the man arrested today helped the woman who is also designated as a professor at the Ciudad Mendoza school to escape after committing the crime.
The arrest of Jesús N, took place on Monday night after an intense search operation for the alleged perpetrator, although they have not reported whether the woman was arrested, nor have they revealed her identity.
