The different racist attacks of which Real Madrid striker Vinicius Jr. has been the victim have finally received a response from the Spanish football authorities who have taken an important step this Tuesday in their attempt to end racism in the fields and have punished one of those responsible.

The Permanent Commission of the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport has made official the sanction of the Mallorca fan who insulted the Brazilian player and now he will have to pay about $4,200 dollars and will not be able to enter No sports venue for a year.

After a meeting held by the aforementioned Commission this Tuesday at the headquarters of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), it was concluded that the fan “was identified as the author of the racist insults made against the Real Madrid player, Vinicius Junior, in the RCD Mallorca-Real Madrid CF match, held on February 5”, expresses part of the statement issued.

It should be noted that this sanction far exceeds the proposal made by the National Police Corps which, after carrying out its private investigation, suggested a fine of 3,000 euros ($3,170 dollars) and a minimum six-month ban on entering a sports venue.

This is the first sanction issued against a fan who has been involved in racist attacks this season, acts that have become repetitive in recent seasons, mainly against Brazilian international Vinicius Jr.

It is hoped that with this punishment, the fans will think well before infringing the rules of conduct of Spanish football and that, in turn, the attacks against players from the different teams will decrease.
