carlos-alcaraz-will-not-play-the-mexican-tennis-open-due-to-injury

The young Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz reported this Tuesday that he will not be able to participate in the Mexican Tennis Open that has been taking place since last Saturday and in which he was scheduled to debut this Wednesday against the American Mackenzie McDonald.

As reported on his Instagram account, Alcaraz suffers from a hamstring injury in his right leg that will take him away from the courts for a few days, in an ailment that has dragged on since last Sunday in the final of the Rio de Janeiro tournament against him. English Cameron Norrie.

“Unfortunately I will not be able to play in the Mexican Open. I have a grade 1 strain in the hamstring of my right leg that will take me to be out for several days, according to the tests I have done this morning ”, reports the Hispanic on his Instagram account.

As if that were not enough, he added that he is working so that his return takes place as soon as possible.

“It hurts me a lot not to compete here, but now it’s time to think about recovering to try to be ready as soon as possible. I hope we see each other soon!”, said the native of Murcia.

Despite having won the first set 7-5, Alcaraz ended up falling to Norrie 4-6, 5-7, in a loss that was presumably confirmed by his right leg injury.
