russia-claims-the-ukrainian-army-is-using-cluster-munitions-on-the-battlefield

This Sunday the Russian authorities in the Zaporizhia region of Ukraine denounced an attack with cluster munitions by the Ukrainian Army against the city taken by Russian troops, Melitopol. At least six people were injured by this attack.

Galina Danilchenko, representative of the Russian government in the area, stated that one of the wounded is seriously injured. In addition, there are reports that the Ukrainian forces bombarded the city with seven missiles, six of which were intercepted by the anti-aircraft defense systems of the Moscow troops.

According to the emergency services, several buildings and a gas pipeline were also affected by the attack by the defending forces of Ukraine. The attack was carried out with a HIMARS and Alder multiple launch missile system with which cluster munitions would have been used in the bombardment.

Meanwhile, to the east of the country, Ukrainian and Russian troops remain fighting for the city of Bakhmut, in Donestk, where the strongest combat of the war started by Moscow is taking place. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) stated that the intensity of the clashes in the Ukrainian town changes very dynamically.

A key factor though is the supply of ammunition, a point mentioned by the head of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, during the course of the battle for the city. Ukrainian Colonel Roman Kostenko pointed out that the intensity of the fighting on the Bakhmut front varies a lot every day, even another factor can interfere in the fighting is the weather conditions.

Even so, the leader imposed by the Russian government in Ukrainian Donestsk, Denis Pushilin, affirmed this week that Russian troops are close to creating a siege of the city of Bakhmut. According to his version, events in the place are unfolding quite quickly after months of bloody fighting against the Kiev Army, which has held the position for months.
