New York City salvaged a tie at 80 minutes thanks to a timely header from Brazilian attacker Talles Magno, with which the team managed to equalize the score 1-0 against New England on their visit to Gillette Stadium.
Ten minutes before the New York goal, Carlos Gil had put the first of the match thanks to the qualification of the American Bobby Shou Wood.
But then came the action of the Brazilian-Brazilian equalizer when Gabriel Pereira sent a corner kick that Talles waited and sent into the back of the net.
With the tie, NYFC reached eight points in six games with a record of 2W, 2D and 2L, which leads them to occupy sixth place in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer, which is dominated by Cincinnati.
New York FC’s next match will be on Sunday, April 9, against Atlanta United at Yankee Stadium, a crucial duel that, if lost, would leave them out of the direct qualifying positions for the Final Series.
