Domino’s announced that more than 1,100 custom-branded 2023 Chevy Bolt electric vehicles will be on the road across the United States and in use at select franchise and corporate stores by the end of the year.
Domino’s Pizza Inc. claims it’s not just the world’s largest pizza company. It also claims the largest electric pizza delivery fleet in the country, which is expanding further.
“In November 2022, Domino’s announced that we would have 800 electric vehicles on the road by the end of 2023 and we are excited to say that we have officially reached that number,” said Joe Jordan, Domino’s president of US and global. services.
“All 800 vehicles are on the road and delivered to various stores across the country. We are even more excited to announce that the number is growing. Our stores and franchisees have continued to express their enthusiasm and interest around electric vehicles, and have ordered more than 300 additional cars that will be on the road by the end of the year.”
The pizza chain notes that electric vehicles provide several advantages for Domino’s stores, including:
· Ample battery life with the potential to take days of deliveries.
· Zero tailpipe emissions.
· Advanced security features.
· Lower average maintenance costs than non-electric vehicles.
Domino’s currently partners with Enterprise Fleet Management, a company that provides hands-on local account management, vehicle acquisition, financing, telematics solutions and maintenance for the electric delivery fleet.
“We continue to see a wide range of advantages from the use of electric vehicles,” Jordan said. “In addition to the business and environmental benefits, a fleet of electric deliveries also helps with driver recruitment, as they open up a whole new pool of job candidates who may not have their own vehicles.”
