A couple of weeks ago, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) launched a call to withdraw Soft Serve On The Go ice creams from the US market, the brand contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, produced by Real Helado Kosher from Brooklyn, NY.

In the United States, the necessary measures were taken to stop the distribution of the products, but unfortunately some of the ice creams were distributed in Mexico.

Faced with this situation, the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) of Mexico alerted the population about the contamination of Soft Serve On The Go brand ice cream with the Listeria monocytogenes bacterium.

According to the information published on the FDA website, the flavors of the products involved are:

Flavor: Vanilla Chocolate (Chocolate Vanilla)
UPC Code: 0-91404-15129-0

Flavor: Razzle n’Dazzle Peanut Butter (Peanut Butter)
UPC Code: 0-91404-15133-7

Flavor: Caramel Vanilla (Caramel)
UPC Code: 0-91404-15131-3

Flavor: Parve Vanilla Chocolate (Chocolate Vanilla)
UPC Code: 0-91404-15113-9

Flavor: Strawberry Mango Sorbet (Mango Strawberry Sorbet)
UPC Code: 0-91404-15128-3

Flavor: Lite Natural Peanut Butter (Natural and light peanut butter)
UPC Code: 0-91404-15285-3

The health agency recommends not buying or consuming Soft Serve On The Go brand products, 8 oz cups, of the aforementioned flavors as they represent a health risk, and that if you have purchased one or more of the products described they should be discarded.

Listeria infection can cause symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and seizures.

In case of presenting any of these symptoms after consuming Soft Serve On The Go ice creams, it is recommended to seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Cofepris requested establishments, department stores or distributors in Mexico that market products with the aforementioned characteristics to immediately suspend their sale and proceed with their destruction.
