Former President Donald Trump assured on Friday that he will put an end to looting in the United States and warned that he will implement a harsh measure, which received loud applause from his followers who were listening to the speech at the California Republican Party Convention, in Anaheim.

“We will immediately stop all looting and theft. Very simple: if you rob a store, you can expect to be shot when you leave that store,” said the candidate for the Presidency of the United States, quoted by the news agency. The Associated Press. “Shot!” he emphasized.

At least 20 people were arrested in Philadelphia for participating in the looting that broke out after a judge decided not to press charges against a police officer who shot and killed a driver in August, an event that was recorded on video.

Last Tuesday, as night fell and after intense protests during the day, groups of people with their faces covered with masks began to loot stores in various areas of the city. They broke the shop windows and took plastic bags full of clothes, shoes and accessories out of the establishments.

Trump’s statements at the convention add to many other controversial statements he has made during his political career. In November 2018, the former president also suggested shooting migrants who were advancing in a caravan towards his country.

“We are not going to stand for that. If they want to throw stones at our military, our military will respond. “If they throw stones like they did with the Mexican military and the police, I say they consider it like a rifle,” the Republican said at the time.
