At least 112 people in Gaza have died, and another 760 have been injured while waiting for the arrival of a humanitarian aid convoy in southeastern Gaza following an attack by Israel, according to the Gaza Strip’s Ministry of Health.

Health spokesman Ashraf al Qudra stated that there are several victims who have not yet been rescued from the rubble and remains of the trucks transporting aid.

The government of Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, condemned the incident, calling it a “premeditated and intentional attack” by the Israeli Army.

“The attack was premeditated and intentional, in the context of the genocide and ethnic cleansing of the people of the Gaza Strip. The occupation army knew that these victims had come to this area to obtain food and help, but it killed them in cold blood,” denounced the Government of Gaza.

Israel denies the version of the Gaza authorities

However, the Israeli Army has denied this version, and pointed out that most of the victims were caused by an “avalanche” of people who tried to loot and surround the aid trucks, causing chaos and the vehicles to back up.

A military spokesman said that many of the dead were run over or crushed by the trucks, and has ruled out the involvement of Israeli troops in the incident.

But despite these claims, the Israeli Army admitted to having opened fire on a small group of Gazans who approached a war zone and were perceived as a threat. The military officer has stated that it was a limited and proportional response, but did not specify how many victims this incident caused.

Palestinian sources rejected the existence of two separate incidents, and maintained that it was a single massacre in which the Israeli Army fired artillery fire and tank ammunition against the Gazans. Jadallah Alshafi, head of the Nursing Department at Shifa hospital, has told Palestinian media that they have not treated any cases of asphyxiation, but only injuries from shrapnel, bullets and tank ammunition.
