A Maryland woman got the surprise of her life during a trip to the supermarket when she bought a lottery ticket for the game ‘Winning 7’ and hit the jackpot.

The woman, who lives in the city of Suitland, was at a Giant Food supermarket in District Heights on February 23 when she decided to try her luck with the lottery.

The woman purchased a $5 lottery scratch-off ticket and checked it at the verification machine. The computer told her to go to the lottery office to claim her prize.

At that moment, the player thought the machine had broken down: “I thought the machine was bad,” she explained to state lottery authorities.

However, the machine was fine and was telling him that he had won a grand prize of $57,777.

The woman was so shocked by the news that she decided to go home instead of continuing with her shopping.

Full of emotion, she called her niece to tell her what had happened.

The two women went to claim the prize on February 27. The winner, who has been playing the lottery for years, said that this is the biggest prize she has ever won.

Now that she has a new fortune, the woman plans to pay off her car, buy a house and help some people close to her.
