Minnesota police reported on a minor who was shot in the head and had to be taken to a hospital where he was reported to be in serious condition. Additionally, authorities revealed that the alleged shooter is a 13-year-old girl, who was arrested and booked into the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center.

The St. Paul Police Department responded to an emergency at 800 Pierce Butler Route regarding a person who had been shot. When officers arrived at the home they found an 11-year-old boy on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head.

EMS transported the boy, whose identity was not revealed because he was a minor, to Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul for treatment.

Suspect taken to Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center

Police said the minor was in critical condition, but did not provide further information. Meanwhile, detectives were trying to find the person responsible for injuring the child.

St. Paul officers, after asking some questions, learned that it could have been a 13-year-old girl who would have taken a firearm and shot the minor. After searching for her, the teenager was found at 100 Charles Avenue and arrested.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect, whose name was not revealed because she is a minor, was taken to the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center, where she was booked on suspicion of second-degree assault.

A 34-year-old man was arrested

Detectives recovered two weapons from the home where the accident occurred and arrested a 34-year-old man, identified as Lloyd Martínez Castillo, who was booked into the Ramsey County Jail on suspicion of felony possession of a firearm. fire for an ineligible misdemeanor and gross negligence for storage of a firearm.

A neighbor was interviewed by different media outlets where she revealed that there were many children in the apartment, but she never imagined that she would see an injured child lying on the ground and the police investigating what happened, she shared. 5 Eyewitness News.

At this time, the St. Paul Police Department has not revealed what will happen to the girl, or how she will be prosecuted if she turns out to be responsible for the crime. The relationship between the victim, the 13-year-old girl and Lloyd Martínez was also not revealed.
