Texas County authorities in Oklahoma are investigating the disappearance of two women, who have not arrived at school to pick up their children since last week. Last Saturday they issued an alert for their location, but so far they have no clue about the whereabouts of both women.

The Texas County Sheriff’s Office asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to be part of the investigation they are carrying out to locate two women after their “suspicious disappearance,” authorities said.

“They never arrived at the pick-up location”

Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian D. Kelley, 39, were traveling together to pick up their children, but “never arrived at the pick-up location,” police described. The authorities did not make it clear if the children they had to look for were really the children of each of them or just one of them.

The Sheriff’s Office with the help of the Highway Patrol published the photograph of the two women with their descriptions:

Veronica Butler
27 years
Red hair
Green eyes
Height 5″7′

Jillian D. Kelley
39 years
Brown hair
Blue eyes

During the investigation, police found the car they were traveling in was abandoned near Highway 95 and Highway L, south of Elkhart, Kansas, in rural Texas county.

“OSBI special agents, along with local law enforcement agencies, are currently working to locate these individuals,” the Sheriff’s Office wrote.

Detectives work day and night

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokesman Hunter McKee told NBC News that so far they have not found any clues to the whereabouts of the two women.

“Officers are still working around the clock to try to find where these women are and what may have happened.”

Additionally, he added that there are no suspects in the investigation, and no threats have been reported against the victims.

The same news outlet said Willow Christian Church in Indianola would have a “prayer time” for Veronica and Jilian, and encouraged attendees to leave a “favorite verse or note of encouragement for their families at this difficult time.” .

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the women can contact the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation at tips@osbi.ok.gov or 1-800-522-8017.
