The recent release of Marc Anthony’s new album, “Muevanse”, has generated all kinds of reactions among the followers and fans of the New York-born singer, as well as the community of Latin artists itself. And among the most notable responses is that of the musician and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, who dedicated an entire essay to the interpreter of “Y Ahora Quien.”
In his writing, published by the media Hola!, the “Hamilton” singer revealed that every Latino, Latina or Latina has at least one moment in their life set to music by Jennifer López’s ex-husband.
And according to Miranda, the music of the artist with Puerto Rican roots has transcended thanks to the representation of Latin communities in various parts of the world.
In the same text, the composer also revealed that his first acquaintance with Anthony was through his album “Otra Nota”, from 1993, which motivated him to learn to dance salsa. Years later, as mentioned by Miranda, Marc’s music even helped him meet his now wife, Vanessa Nadal, with whom he danced to the song “Nadie Como Ella” improvisedly at school.
In the same rehearsal, the actor also revealed that he witnessed Marc Anthony’s debut on Broadway through the show “The Capeman.” Years later, and after the birth of his son Francisco, the Puerto Rican voice continued in his life through various topics.
For all of the above, and within the framework of the launch of his new album, titled “Muevanse”, Miranda compared Marc with one of the singers of greatest importance and impact in the world of music internationally: Frank Sinatra.
He is our Sinatra, and when we listen to him, we also hear echoes of all the unforgettable moments in our own lives.”
In the same rehearsal by the director of “Tick, Tick… Boom!”, he revealed that the new songs from Anthony’s new material, such as “One Chord”, “Punta Cana”, Marc’s first song in the bachata genre”, as well as such as “Tu No Me Oyes”, “Hasta Ayer”, among others, will flood the dance floors due to the universe of rhythms they house.
Marc Anthony will be part of the Latin American Music Awards, on April 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the city of Las Vegas. The Latin musician will take the stage to perform an unreleased song.
Regarding Lin-Manuel Miranda, the producer was part of the last Hispanic Federation ceremony where Marc’s ex-wife, Jennifer López, was awarded the Pride Award for her work in favor of Latinos in the United States.
