Harris County, in Texas, has experienced an emergency situation due to heavy rains and flooding, local authorities reported, stating that at least 178 people have been rescued from their homes, as well as 122 pets in that state and in Oklahoma.
Lina Hidalgo, Harris County judge, reported the number of rescued people on Saturday afternoon, and indicated that they were helped by emergency teams in the midst of the floods that occurred over the weekend. No deaths or injuries have been reported.
Likewise, local authorities asked citizens to remain on alert, as bad weather could continue on Sunday in southeast Texas, a region that includes the city of Houston, where unprecedented floods have been experienced in the San Jacinto and Trinity rivers. .
Likewise, rain on Sunday has been forecast to reach up to 76 millimeters in Southeast Texas, warning residents that it is not a time to evacuate without first contacting 911.
