The problems of actor Kevin Spacey seem to have no end, as he once again finds himself in the eye of the hurricane, since next year he will face a civil trial in the United Kingdom for a complaint against him of sexual assault.
A man, whose identity is being withheld by court decision, sued Spacey for alleged sexual assault, alleging that he suffered psychiatric harm and financial loss as a result of the August 2008 incident.

According to the Variety portal, this civil lawsuit was stopped after the protagonist of ‘House of Cards’ was acquitted in a criminal trial of sexual crimes alleged by four men between 2001 and 2013.
Last Tuesday, the actor’s lawyers attended court to annul a default judgment, as they had not presented their defense in time after the criminal trial.
Judge David Cook, although he described the lawyers’ error as a “blunder,” agreed to annul the sentence to avoid injustice and, consequently, the case will proceed to a civil trial so that the accusations are properly resolved.
“In my opinion, that error should not fall on the defendant. The interests of justice demand that the accusations go to trial and the default judgment be annulled,” the judge stated.
The exact trial date has not yet been confirmed; However, legal documents are expected to be exchanged in early 2025.
These events occur in the midst of the broadcast of the documentary ‘Spacey Unmasked’, which explores the life of Kevin Spacey, from his rise to Hollywood to the accusations of sexual crimes against him, of which he was acquitted in 2023.
