Bayern Munich made a surprise move in the winter market by acquiring South Korean jewel Hyunju Lee on loan from Pohang Steelers of the Korean First Division del Sur, as announced by the Bavarian club this Friday through its social networks.
Hyunju Lee, is a forward of barely 14 years of age arrives on loan to initially disembark at the ‘Bayern Campus’, a training center for the German team, where he will be for the next six months waiting for a possible call from the first team.
As part of the agreement with the Pohang Steelers, Bayern Munich will have a purchase option on which the price has not yet been set, but which will have to be finalized at the end of the season if the European team wants to take over full-time player services.
As reported by Bayern in a statement, Lee has already completed trial training at the junior performance center and will be part of the amateur team (Second Division).
“Hyunju convinced us and we made the decision to sign him. We are happy that he plays for our fans from now. We look forward to a successful mid-season together,” said Bayer Campus Director Jochen Sauer.
In turn, the young striker said he was very grateful to Bayern for the interest shown and let it be known that he wants to adapt “quickly” and be able to show his “best performance” on the field of play.
