Kevin Cuatlacuatl, a teenager 19 years old, was arrested after allegedly stabbing two young people of 29 years old, killing one of them, during a big fight outside a Mexican restaurant in Bay Ridge (Brooklyn), police said.

Cuatlacuatl was charged with homicide for the stabbing that left Anthony Donofrio dead in front of “Catrinas Mexican Grill” in 7316 3rd Avenue, around 3: 40 Saturday am, in full snowfall.

Donofrio had been stabbed in the chest and was pronounced dead at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn. Another young man was found at the scene with head injuries. That second unidentified victim was hospitalized in the same center in stable condition, indicated New York Post.

In a statement issued by State Senator Andrew Gounardes (D) later Saturday on Twitter, said he will work with “colleagues in government” and the NYPD to have “Catrina’s liquor license revoked.”

“This senseless act of violence is part of a dangerous and well-documented pattern of illegal and reckless behavior in this establishment over the years,” the senator said. “It is clear that the owners of Catrina’s have no intention of complying with the law, they have no consideration for the neighborhood in which they operate, and even less for keeping their own customers safe.”

No it was clear what sparked the dispute that led to the double stabbing. Several unidentified male suspects fled the scene amid the snowstorm, reported StatenIslandLive.com. Anyone with information should call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) and in Spanish 1-2022- 57-CLUE (74782). Also through crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or by text message to 274637 (CRIMES), followed by TIP577. This deadly event is part of a dangerous pattern of neglect & recklessness from Catrina’s. It’s clear they don’t care to be good neighbors or follow the law. I’m working with my colleagues in govt & @NYPD550Pct to make clear that the SLA should revoke their liquor license.— Senator Andrew Gounardes (@Sen_Gounardes) January 29, 2022
