Five people died in a shooting inside a church located in the town of Arden-Arcade, in Sacramento County, California.
The perpetrator is a father of 39 who shot to death his three daughters – aged 9, 10 and 13 years, respectively- before committing suicide with the same weapon, as reported by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
The fourth victim is a member of the church who accompanied to the family inside the temple, and it remains to be known if there was any kind of personal relationship between the murderer and this person.
For her part, the mother of the girls is alive and continues to collaborate with the Police, to whom she informed that she had already filed a restraining order against the father, according to reported the authorities.
The event occurred around 17: 07 local time when another church worker heard the detonations coming from inside the building.
Now the Police are also investigating whether there is any link between the family and the religious temple where the events occurred while they continue to search for witnesses .
In addition, the authorities deployed a large police force, cordoned off the area and checked the church’s surveillance cameras .
“Another senseless act of gun violence in America, this time in our backyard. In a church with children inside. Absolutely devastating,” California Governor Gavin Newsom tweeted after the tragic event.
