DH Peligro, well-known drummer for rock bands like the Dead Kennedys and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, died at the age of 63 after a fall at his home .

This Saturday, Dead Kennedys announced on their Instagram account the death of the musician, who according to CNN lost his life due to head trauma resulting from a fall at his home in Los Angeles.

DH Peligro was always an important figure in the San Francisco and Los Angeles music scene from the beginning of his career, around 63 .

Played drums for the Dead Kennedys from 1981 until the legendary punk group broke up in 1986, and then returned to them during their meeting, at 2001. He also spent a brief time in 1988 with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and founded his own band, Peligro, for which he sang and played guitar on three albums.

The album Sum of Our Surroundings of his group won the award for Rock Album of the Year at the American Independent Music Awards of 2004. The musician also earned a Grammy nomination for a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze.”

He recently toured Europe with another musical act, showing his comfort playing a variety of genres. , from punk and rock, to funk and reggae.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, Flea, was one of the celebrities who mourned the death of Peligro.

“My dear friend, my brother, I miss you very much. I am devastated today, a river of tears, but all my life I will treasure every second. You are a true rocker and a crucial part of Red Hot Chili Peppers history,” Flea posted on his Instagram account.
