“Selective Outrage,” the upcoming Chris Rock comedy special, will make history as the first live event to air on Netflix.

Scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 2023 from Baltimore, Maryland, the special will begin at 10 pm ET/7 pm PT.

That’s less than a year after the slap, when Will Smith punched Rock during the Oscars ceremony.

A preview has already been published by the platform and shows Rock sitting in a dressing room, staring at the mirror and the camera.

The moment is interrupted by a knock on the door that hears Chris say, “they’re ready for you,” before he starts walking towards an auditorium and stands in front of his microphone.

“Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation,” Robbie Praw, Netflix’s vice president of stand-up and comedy formats, said of the worldwide special.

“We are thrilled that the entire world can experience a Chris Rock stand-up comedy event and be a part of Netflix history. This will be an unforgettable moment and we are very honored that Chris is carrying this torch,” he noted.

‘Selective Outrage’ will mark the seventh comedy special to air on Rock, as well as the second to premiere on Netflix. The first was ‘Tambourine’, which was directed by Bo Burnham and released in February 2018. That special also marked the first in a full decade, with its predecessor, the HBO special ‘Kill The Messenger’, arriving in September 2018. 2008.
