The Sevilla players paid a heartfelt tribute to the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) goalkeeper, Sergio Rico, who remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the Virgen del Rocío hospital in Seville, after suffering an accident with a horse.

The Sevillian team took to the grass of the Puskás Arena in Budapest with a shirt in support of Rico, who is their homegrown goalkeeper, to warm up before the match against Roma this Wednesday.

“Come on Sergio Rico, we are with you” was the message that the footballers of the Seville team wore on their shirts.

The players were greeted with a standing ovation from the 13,000 fans who flocked to the Hungarian stadium.

The goalkeeper Sergio Rico is stable, sedated and under medical surveillance at the Seville hospital, where he was admitted on Sunday due to serious head injuries sustained when he was kicked by a horse in the Rocío pilgrimage.

Sources from the health center have informed EFE that the Sevillian goalkeeper remains in that state “after 72 hours of evolution in the ICU”, where he remains “stable within the severity of his injuries”.

Because of what happened, Paris Saint-Germain also canceled the gala dinner for its foundation out of respect for the situation the goalkeeper is going through.
