Chase, one of the largest banks in the United States, announced the closure of 23 branches in the coming months, according to the Weekly Bulletins of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
This decision will affect customers in various cities from coast to coast.
Under OCC regulations, banks must report any branch closures within a 90-day period after the last date it was in business.
That’s why Chase had to make public the round of closures it will make.
Chase is closing several of its branches because people are going to the bank less and less.
And now, with smartphones, many banking transactions can be done easily from home.
Because of this, banks are adapting and closing some branches that are no longer as necessary, while improving online services.
The cities where Chase branches will close are:
1. Cornwall, New York
2. Corona, New York
3. Rochester, New York
4. Greenwich (two branches), Connecticut
5. Old Greenwich, Connecticut
6. Pataskala, Ohio
7. Rocky River, Ohio
8. Valparaiso, Indiana
9. Chicago, Illinois
10. Woodstock, Illinois
11. Roseville, Michigan

In Ohio, the Pataskala and Rocky River branches will be added to the list of closures, along with a branch in Valparaiso, Indiana, and two in Illinois.

The western United States is not exempt, as it will suffer the closure of branches in Roseville, Michigan, and in Colorado, specifically in Arvada, Denver and Falcon.

However, California will be the most affected state, with the closure of six branches in the cities of Garden Grove, German Oaks, San Diego, San Francisco, Valencia and Wilmington.
