The football shirt market is one of the main sources of income for large European clubs. Fans pay high prices for these garments, but the real deal is in the sponsorship deals that teams sign with sports brands and companies.

According to the Football Benchmark portal, Real Madrid and Barcelona are the two clubs that earn the most money with their shirts. Real Madrid receives $204 million dollars per season from Adidas and Emirates, while Barcelona receives $188 million dollars from Nike and Spotify.

In addition to the main sponsor, clubs can also earn income from other sponsorships, such as the one that appears on the sleeve of the shirt. Real Madrid has an agreement with HP and Barcelona with TP Vision.

The jerseys of these two teams are also the most expensive on the market. The Real Madrid jersey with number and patches costs $209 dollars, while the Barcelona one sells for $200 dollars.

By comparison, Atlético Madrid, which ranks 15th in jersey revenue, receives just $16 million per season from its title sponsor, Riyadh Air.
