parents-in-the-united-states-are-concerned-about-the-education-of-their-children-due-to-the-lack-of-teachers

A problem that has worsened in much of the United States since the pandemic began is the shortage of teachers, which has parents very concerned, who are seeing the lags their children are having in their education.

OnePoll carried out a study on behalf of Study.com, in which 1,500 parents participated on this topic, which highlighted that the lack of qualified teachers is one of the main concerns regarding the issue of their children’s education.

In fact, 3 out of 4 parents are mortified by this situation and 48% indicated that they are experiencing a lack of teaching staff in their children’s schools.

In addition to the lack of learning, parents have also detected other problems in their children caused by not having enough teachers in their respective educational institutions, mainly concentration problems (30%), coming home frustrated (25%) and delays in classes (24%).

Similarly, 1 in 4 parents reported that their children are failing a grade in school and 19% feel that their children are showing signs of burnout.

To overcome these problems, 34% of those interviewed indicated that they have already considered hiring a tutor for their children.

“Staff shortages in the education sector can significantly affect students and their learning experience,” said Dana Bryson, Senior Vice President of Study.com.

“Although states are introducing alternatives to credentialing in response to educator shortages, teachers typically undergo rigorous preparation and evaluation, including earning a teaching degree, passing certification exams, and completing student teaching and other training programs,” he said.
