A Florida woman hit the jackpot by participating in the 500X The Cash Scratch-Off lottery game. The woman, named Alicia Sanders, took $1 million, but in the end she took a smaller amount.

The 52-year-old from Riviera Beach, Florida, went to collect her prize this week at Florida Lottery headquarters in West Palm Beach.

Despite the fact that she won $1 million, the woman ended up only receiving $820,000, since she had to pay the corresponding taxes.

The Scratch-Off lottery ticket containing the prize was purchased at Franks Deli in West Palm Beach, located at 2100 45th Street.

The store received an extra $2,000 commission just for selling the winning ticket.

The Florida Lottery said in a press release: “The $50 game, 500X THE CASH, offers a $25 million jackpot, the largest ever offered in a Florida Scratch-Off game, and the best odds of winning! become an instant millionaire! The overall odds of winning the game are 1 in 4.5″.
