lottery-player-thought-he-won-a-$11-prize,-but-he-actually-won-$37,000

A man named Richard Windross thought he was lucky to win what he thought was a $15 CAD (about $11 US) prize, but was immeasurably more surprised when, on closer inspection of the ticket, he found himself realized that the prize was actually $50,000 Canadian dollars (about $36,800 US dollars).

The 68-year-old man said that he likes to play all the lottery games. “I scratched off my ticket at home and thought I had won $15 or $20. I was shocked when I found out I won $50,000,” said the lucky winner at the OLG Awards Center in Toronto.

Windross, who is from the city of Port McNicoll, said he plans to pay off some debt and share his new fortune with the family.

“It feels really good,” he said of his win, according to I Heart Radio.

The lottery ticket was purchased at a Garrett’s Convenience store on Talbot Street in the city of Port McNicoll.
