Michelle Obama, former first lady of the United States, showed that it is never too late to get behind a microphone and start rocking, during a Bruce Springsteen concert at the Lluís Company Olympic Stadium in Barcelona.

Obama and actress Kate Capshaw, wife of filmmaker Steven Spielberg, met last weekend at a concert by Springsteen and his E Street Band, where they accompanied him as backup singers on the iconic song “Glory Days” from the album Born in the USA, almost towards the end of the show.

According to the TMZ portal, hours before the show in Spain, Kate and Michelle dined with Patti Scialfa, Springsteen’s wife and showgirl of his group, as well as their respective husbands, Spielberg and Barack Obama.

Subsequently, they all went to the “El Jefe” concert, where the women were immortalized in several fan videos singing the choruses of “Glory Days.”

The Springsteens and Obamas have been friends since 2008, when Barack was about to start his administration in the United States. Then, in 2016, the president gave the rocker the Presidential Medal of Freedom. They even launched a Spotify podcast, Renegades: Born in the USA, in 2021, in which they chatted about music and politics.

As for Springsteen’s relationship with Spielberg, the two have also been great friends for years, taking trips to various parts of the world together.

The singer-songwriter is on tour with his band in Europe, after several of his musicians fell ill with Covid-19 during their shows in the United States. He is scheduled to conclude this leg of his tour on July 25 in Monza, Italy; and later he will return to North America to offer concerts in the US and Canada between August and December.
