The recently retired coach of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bruce Arians, stated this Thursday that what he will miss most is cursing his players every day and then hugging them.

“Without a doubt, what I will miss the most will be cursing my players every day and hugging them later“, Arians released at the press conference in which he said goodbye as coach of the ‘Bucs’ of which now he will be a senior consultant.

“All the players I have ever coached have received insults“, was Arians’ statement to which quarterback Tom Brady immediately reacted by raising his hand as a sign acceptance.

The Buccaneers quarterback was sitting in the front row at the strategist’s farewell press conference with the who won Super Bowl LV against the Chiefs in 2021.

The former coach of 69 years he mentioned that Brady accompanied him as a sign of union of all the players he led on the team.

“Tom is here on behalf of them because it was very important for me to have their support and I am grateful that everyone has understood my decision, because when it is time to finish, you know it is time and nothing else“, he explained.

In his career in the NFL, with the Colts in 2012, the Arizona Cardinals between 2013 and 2017 and the Bucs, 2019-2021, Arians accumulated 80 wins, 48 losses and a draw. He was twice named Coach of the Year, in 2012 and 2014.

The Paterson, New Jersey, native detracted from his achievements and diverted them for members of his team, including Todd Bowles, his defensive coordinator, who will be Tampa Bay’s new head coach. “The work belongs to my group of coaches; I really didn’t do shit.”

Arians even joked about the new senior consultant position he’ll be occupying. “My new office job is pretty cool, though I have yet to figure out what it means.”

The conference was attended by Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner Joel Glazer and team general manager Jason Licht, who gave know that the name of Bruce Arians will be part of the ring of honor at Raymond James Stadium, home of the team.
