man-charged-with-murder-in-triple-homicide-that-sparked-amber-alert-in-florida

A man from Jacksonville, Florida, was charged this Saturday with murder after being involved in the triple homicide of his girlfriend and her brothers. He is also accused of the kidnapping of his son, which caused the activation of the Amber Alert.

The subject identified as Terrell Lewis, of 37 years old, booked into the Duval County Jail on Friday afternoon. He was charged with three counts of second degree murder. The thesis handled by the police is that he killed the three people in an apartment complex on Saturday morning.

Relatives of the suspect informed News4JAX that one of the victims was the girlfriend of Lewis, as well as the mother of his son, an 8-year-old boy that Lewis kidnapped and triggered an Amber Alert.

The family added that the other two fatal victims in the residential complex were the sister and Lewis’s girlfriend’s brother.

The police received a report of intense discussions that ended in a loud noise. Upon arrival at the scene, all three victims were found dead inside the apartment.

Tina Penn, who is a cousin of one of the victims, told News4JAX how she found out about the murders.

“My aunt, who is their mother, called and said that she could not get in touch with any of them and that there was a murder here, that three people were killed in the apartments where they live and that they should leave to look for them. That’s when I went out to see what was going on, and it was them, “said Penn.

Following the report of the kidnapping of Lewis’s son, both were found in the early afternoon at Colonial Point Condominiums, which is four miles from where the shooting occurred. The child was not injured.

Lewis’s arrest was facilitated after the person who called 911 specified the car police said the suspect was driving.

Court records showed that Lewis had been named on a domestic violence warrant in 1200 by the mother of his child.
