After Yahritza y su Esencia’s concerts were canceled due to controversy over Mexico and its food, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador advocated for the regional Mexican music group by saying that they should be forgiven and announced that they will be at the celebration of the 15th of September in the Zócalo.
“An incident has just happened that there is a group of children, their name is Yahritza and her brothers have a musical group. They were born there, they are of Mexican parents, I think from Chiapas, they were interviewed and they said they didn’t like Mexican food, boy, poor thing, it was very bad for them. But they did not do it in bad faith, it is that they were born there, they did not want to offend, but it was a mistake, but they canceled concerts, a lot of punishment.
“I am sure that they will reconsider and we have to grant forgiveness, that is, we always have to forgive if someone is wrong or makes a mistake, but they are also children. But I also wanted to tell you that those from Grupo Frontera are going to be there and there is a song that this girl sings, ”López Obrador commented yesterday in a conference.
At the beginning of the month, Yahritza and her Essence apologized after saying that she does not like Mexico or its food.
The young woman justified herself after the criticism that her project of sierreña music and corridos lying down received for stating that they do not like the country, in addition to comparing the food with that of the United States.
The parents of the young musicians are originally from Michoacán.
