invasion-of-ukraine:-russia-approaches-with-a-huge-tank-convoy-towards-kiev

The outskirts of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, have been threatened by missile attacks, while Russian forces have advanced with a huge tank convoy during the fifth day of the invasion of Ukrainian territory.

In the face of threats to the Ukrainian capital, civilians have gone to underground shelters, and the alert extended to multiple districts of Kiev, BBC Mundo reported.

The Minister of the Interior of Ukraine , Denys Monastyrskyy, declared to the aforementioned media outlet that the situation is “serious but stable”.

“In fact, every day the enemy sends more and more forces, but our glorious Armed Forces are basically destroying everything that comes to Kiev, which continues to be the main target to attack”, Monastyrskyy said.

The minister emphasized that they have created mobile groups to catch Russian troops, reaching up to 100 of those active groups in Kiev, which have acted depending on the time of day.

A BBC correspondent reported that the place where she was reporting was shaken by missile fire that fell nearby, adding that “the windows rumbled”.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom United, most of the Russian forces met at the end of the day about 30 kilometers north of the capital, immobilized by the Ukrainian resistance.

Kilometric convoy captured from satellite images

Satellite images revealed that a huge convoy with Russian tanks was heading for Kiev. Maxar Technologies, the company that released the photographs, stated that the convoy was 64 kilometers long and contained hundreds of armored vehicles, tanks, artillery and logistics support vehicles.

Other satellite images showed destroyed armored vehicles west and northwest of Kiev, and a damaged bridge near the cities of Irpin and Stoyanka.

Furthermore, recent images revealed that there were troops on the ground and helicopters of attack in the south of Belarus, an area located less than 30 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

The new war episode occurs at the beginning of the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia on the border with Belarus, in which President Volodimir Zelensky seeks a ceasefire, at the same time that Russia urges that the Ukrainian government walk away from NATO.

“I say it once more: 4,500 Russian occupiers have fallen. Discard your team. Get out of here. Don’t trust your commanders. Don’t trust their propagandists. Just save your lives,” Zelensky warned the Russian soldiers in a video message.
