Representation of “The Passion of Christ”

Closing of the “March is Music” series at Pregones

The Grammy-nominated group, Groove Collective, will close this Saturday the “March is Music” concert series, at the Pregones Theater. “The Child” at the Metropolitan Opera

American composer John Adams returns to the Metropolitan Opera this Monday, April 1, with his acclaimed opera-oratorio, “The Child,” a dramatic reinvention of the Nativity, incorporating sacred and secular texts in English, Spanish and Latin, from biblical times to the present. The piece brings together some of the greatest defenders of contemporary opera, such as Marin Alsop, one of the great directors of our time; the soprano Julia Bullock and the innovative bass-baritone Davóne Tines. Mezzo-sopranos J’Nai Bridges and Daniela Mack take turns completing the main trio. The new production also marks the Met debut of Lileana Blain-Cruz, Resident Director at Lincoln Center Theatre. Latina designers at MoMA

The exhibition “Crafting Modernity: Design in Latin America, 1940?1980” at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) presents these sometimes conflicting visions of modernity proposed by designers of domestic environments in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela , between 1940 and 1980. The exhibition’s curators highlighted 10 women designers and artists we should know, whose radical work, whether on chairs or ceramics, buildings or rugs, revolutionized our experience of design in our lives. Arlo Williamsburg opens restaurant

The Arlo Williamsburg hotel in Brooklyn (96 Wythe Ave.) has just opened its Sungold restaurant, led by chef Michael King, who uses local and seasonal ingredients to offer a menu that includes homemade pastas, wood-fired pizzas and a wide selection of starters and main dishes. The decoration of the new gastronomic center matches the unique and chic aesthetic of the hotel, with a dining room with capacity for 60 people that exposes brick walls and a striking pendant lamp composed of individual lights, with touches of greenery enliven the space. Open daily from 7am to 10pm, with brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30am to 3pm. The happy hour, called Lucky Hour, will be available Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., and will include an Espresso Martini, French fries, and a fortune cookie offering a chance to win a free stay at Arlo Williamsburg, all for $15 .
